A fierce debate centered on the legalization of online poker is currently underway in the state of Washington where online poker and gambling were banned back in 2006. The state argues that gambling causes social problems, however, it seems like it is protecting just a few by banning all. The sentence and resulting punishment for an online poker player equals to a sentence served by someone who, for example, tortured an animal – both crimes fall under the C category of crimes that means a sentence of up to 5 years in prison and a fine up to $10k. Whilst banning online gambling, the state itself runs a lottery program. So the question remains, where is the difference?

Through a survey realised by the INSEE (Statistic institut of France) , 10 cards games are really popular in the words but which one is the number one.

At the 10th place 7 families:

a really famous game that eveyone play. You have to ask to another player if it has the grand ma of the family Fisher or whatever it is. If they don’t have it, you have to pick up a card. This game is very popular and a lot of children love playing it.

9th place: The rummy

Rummy is a card game particularly popular among families in many countries of the world. There are many variations of Rummy according to regional specificities. The current form of Rummy is derived from rules emerged in the early twentieth century; Rummy game is directly inspired by a game called Conquian appeared at the border of Mexico and the United States at the end of nineteenth century.

8th place: UNO

this game is really popular in China and the rules are quite easy to understand. You have to match a 4 green with a green card or a 4. There are different variantes of the game. This game is very populaur in USA and in Europe.

7th place Tarot

It is one of the famous card game in France and every old people play it other there, every day and probably once or twice a day. The game is with “atout” and some normal gards. You call a king of the beginning of the party and you are 2 to bet three other players.  Different variantes exist too.

6th place: Belote

It is the most famous card game in France, in Belgium and in Switzerland. It is very fast and a lot of tournament are organised everywhere around France. You play it with 4 players and someone call a suit and the team has to make 82 points to win. different variant exist too.

5th place: Drinking card game

Probably your favourite one.  You can play it everywhere around the world and the rules are different with the country where you are playing but these kind of game are universal.  Don’t need to give you an explaination of the rules.

4th place Blackjack

One of the best game ever at the casino. You have to be the closest one of 21 points and beat the dealer. it is not allowed to get more than 21 points.  A gambling game

3th place Solitaire game

You didn’t think about this one. Everyone can play it on their computer and since computer and laptop have invaded our houses. A game that you can’t finish but everyone play it such as Mario bros

2th place Poker

Since a few years, poker is present everywhere in the world and everyone is playing it. A tournament of poker is between 200 and 10 000 players.  You can play it online, at the casino, at the pub, at the club. Everywhere actually. Don’t need to explain the rules too.

But if poker is not the first one which card game is the first one?

1st place Hearts

Of course, the game is an authentic English game. And it has been playing for centuries throughout the world. Today, you can play it ine your computer too. But this game is so old that it would be difficult to beat it.
